Which is more Fuel Efficient: LS1 or LS6 V8?!?
I have a 2000 Camaro Z28, with the LS1 V8 Engine in it. I get Very Decent Fuel Mileage for a V8, and I was wondering if the LS6 was more or Less Efficient in Comparison to the LS1.

They are based on the Same Block, and are the Exact same Size. Both Engines were used in the Corvette’s from 2001 to 2004. (The LS1 was used in the Corvette from 1997 to 2004)
The LS6 was used in the Z06 Corvettes, and had 405 HP. The LS1 had between 345 & 355 HP in the regulare Corvette.

There is an LS6 Coversion Kit that I have seen Online, which Converts the LS1 to the Same Specs as the LS6. It’s Basically an LS6 Intake Manifold, and LS6 Valve-Trains, which go Right Over the Block, on top the Cylinders. (Fits onto the LS1 Block.)

Now, I’ve thought about getting this Kit, to put on the LS1 in my Camaro, but I don’t want to get it, if it’s going to Drag-Down my Fuel Economy.*
I would Think that with an LS6 Valve-Train, that it wouldn’t be a Drag on Fuel Economy, if you Drove the same. I mean, I don’t Dog my Z28: I’ve learned from past Experience how much better MPG I get, when driving like Spock. I actually get near the Manufactures Specs on Fuel Economy. I’ve once seen 25MPG’s 2 summers ago, when doing alot of Highway Driving. The Sticker says 19 City/24 Highway!
I’ve also found, that the Winter is when the Fuel Economy drops regardless how you drive.

Is the LS6 just as Fuel Efficient as the LS1?!?

It’s not going to make a huge difference. So what if you lose a MPG or 2? These are performance cars, no Hon-duhs lol

Don’t forget to get you PCM tuned after you do the swap. Let me ask you this, what are your performance goals? You could skip the LS6 heads and keep the stockers, do a better cam(better than that weak LS6 cam) and do the LS6 intake manifold and be perfectly happy. With the correct PCM tune your mileage won’t really suffer. I guess it’s all about what you truly want out of the car.

EDIT: A cam will absolutely give you more power, as far as the horrible sound…well it depends on the cam and exhaust. Your goals make no sense…I don’t mean ANY disrespect but if you don’t really want much more power why would you even consider going through all of the trouble of doing a LS6 top end conversion? If you think a cammed car sounds bad you’re not serious about doing mods.

Why do you need valve work? Also, nothing in your plans will get rid of the piston slap, you’ll need a complete rebuild for that..which is pointless because the piston slap isn’t causing any problems, my ‘00 did the same thing.

If you’re not all that concerned with more power then I’d suggest just doing the LS6 manifold, have the PCM retuned and call it a day. Doing a cam and LS6 heads isn’t really necessary if you’re not concerned with power.

You’ll be able to pick up a used LS6 intake for $300-350, you can also search to see if there’s a tuner in your area that has HPTuners or LS1Edit.

The LS6 cam profile and fuel management and engine, generated more horse power. So just common sense would tell you that more HP means more fuel consumption. Thus Ls6 as long as its the same car and weight, with matching gearing in the trans or diff

And you made a good point about your mileage going down in the winter. and its not because its winter fuel either. If gasoline is liquid and it is, will the fuel be more dense when cold or hot? and if gasoline is hotter, doesn’t that mean that eventually the gasoline is turning to vapor or a gaseous state? and would that fuel in that condition burn more efficiently, meaning better HP and mileage, I think so. And fuel being cold be more of a liquid or ice state, meaning that all the fuel wont completely burn, meaning less power and less HP. I think so
And last, I would take a look into Smokey Unich’s Fuel Homoginizer system and yes a working system is out there and it showed up at a Barret and Jackson auction in the form of a Fierro

What bra brand would best suit me?
I want a bra that will support me by the cup, not by the strap. I’m a full C, small D woman and I would like a bra that has under wire. For the everyday wear of bra I wouldn’t want something with a lot of lace and design on it showing through my shirt so brands that tend to put that on everything they sell are out of question. Also, I’m not so much interested in bras that have a lot of padding because I have enough breast as it is lol. I’m just looking for a simple bra that has a lot of support.

You could try the Itec bra by LaSenza. It’s a simple design, you can criss-cross the straps, and the cup is very supportive, assuming you get it fitted. It has some padding, but it is necessary for the amount of cup support you need.

I agree with you on the straps. I wear strapless bras a lot because they support my boobs with the cup instead of the strap, which can get annoying. I sometimes find that the back of the bra rides up when I wear certain strapped bras. You could try getting a strapless, but I’m not sure how well it would support you (I’m only a 32C).

problems with 5 year old stepdaughter and her dad?
My boyfriend, Zack. has a 5 year old daughter, Justyce. She tried for years to get her dad to pay attention to her, she tried getting in trouble at preschool/daycare. she tries beating up her brother and sisters, she has fits that can last 30-45 minutes, she tells him she wishes he was dead and not her mom. They use to spend every second together before Avanna and Kaylen were born. and then he started playing with them and Javin(his son with his ex) all the time, She use to hate being in her room because thats were he spanked her and/or put her in time out. And now she spends 90% of her time in her room laying on her bed, you can walk in there and she’ll be crying for no reason. She calls her grandma and cries asking her if she can come live with her, she wants to spend all her time at daycare when she use to hate it and you had to fight her to get her to go. When we eat she takes her food to her room and eats it in there, Earlier we were at the park and Justyce was on the swing and then Avanna and Kaylen and Javin went and got on the swings and asked Justyce to push them and she was trying but not getting them very high and they were laughing and werent complaining but Zack came over and pushed her out of the way and told her shes not doing it right and pushed them high, and Justyce went on the merri-go-round and sat on that and started crying. She wont talk 2 me, if i try talking 2 her she turns the other way and wont look at me, Zack wont even try talking 2 her. Shes going to a therapist because of her mom dying and i told her therapist about her doing this and she said everytime she says something about Zack she changes subject or starts crying and wont talk 2 her about it.

It sounds like your boyfriend needs the therapy about his ex dying, too. It doesn’t seem like a stretch to link the hostility that he’s showing her with the fact that she remembers and talks about her mom. Is her brother older or younger? Does she look like her mom?

Whether he goes to therapy or not, though, I’d call him out in no uncertain terms about the fact that his daughter is absolutely still a baby and he needs to stop treating her this way, no matter what the reason is. She lost one parent and the other is pushing her away and hurting her rather than helping her through what is obviously the hardest thing a kid could go through.

Good luck with all of this. It absolutely broke my heart to read about her laying on her bed and crying. A 5 year old girl shouldn’t have a worry in the world. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

I have had a similar experience with my children, after divorce. My daughter was angry that her father was going away. At the tender age of 5, children don’t understand death, it terrifies them. With Zack, I think it could be that Justyce just reminds him so much of her mother, that it is too painful for him to face. So, he is pushing her away. Justyce is not only trying to grasp the concept that her mother is gone, but now she has no idea why her father is increasingly distant. She is angry, scared (thinking he will leave her too), and very confused. What I did was, build a close relationship with her. Spend some " Happy Girl Time" (what my 7 y/o daughter named it) at the mall, or the salon. Find something that just the two of you can do together and is just between the girls. I taught my daughter how to sew by hand, and we started her own scrapbook. It may take a while, but eventually she will trust you enough to talk. I know that our situations are different, but I think this might help. Just give her time, and love. She will talk to you when she is ready; just be sure that you are ready to be there for her.

Try asking her if she wants to go to the store with you or somewhere whenever you leave to make her feel like she is special since her dad is a punk and doesn’t feel the need to.

You need to then ask her father one night "how come you don’t love Justyce"? that should get his attention.You should then explain that the suicide rate among kids is high.Those with depression.There are kids as young as 8 who ARE killing themselves because they are depressed.Depressing is NOTHING to fuck around with.You need to tell him that she doesn’t feel loved because he spends all his time with the others.He needs to snap out of denial.Perhaps he can start a daddy daughter tradition to where they go out for ice cream once a week or something.You should also suggest to the therapist that she should talk to your husband about this.

Make sure no one is home when confroning him . And maybe for your step daughter, try spending as MUCH time as possible with her. Maybe after school go to mcdonalds or some place she likes to go and just hang out with her. After awhile she may feel comfortable talking to yu. THE LANDLORD IS SELLING WHILE I AM RENTING, WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS?
I have rented a flat for 14 months from a Letting Agent and a private landlord. My Assured Shorthold Tenancy expired and I renewed and signed another identical agreement for another year. The Letting Agent has refused to give me the new copy of the agreement stating that my landlord had to sign it. After many emails and visits I still do not have a copy. I was charged ?200 to renew the tenancy by the Letting Agent. I was told my rent had gone up by ?100 per month. I doubt I will get my ?1,200 deposit from the Letting Agent with the problems they have caused.

I am up to date with rent with a bank rent book going into the Landlord’s account. I have never missed a payment and the flat is in great condition. I haven’t really had any issues with landlord during the 1st year of tenancy, apart from the fact he use to miss mortgage payments every now again. Now I know this was part of a plan to make me move out early. His letters come here as he used to live here.

During the week I got a call from an Estate Agent for valuation and they said the reason was for re-mortgaging. They did the valuation and I allowed them access. My landlord visited the property the next day to tell me he is selling. There is a For Sale sign outside the flat. Now the Estate Agent have contacted me for viewings and photographs and they also have keys to attend while I am not present. I have had no consultation from the landlord as everything has been done pretty much behind my back. I have had no legal notice to move out. I have sent an email to the Estate Agency to hault the viewings informing them I haven’t had legal notice from the landlord. I haven’t any support from the Letting Agent who let the property to me. So, I believe he is involved. I feel harrassed, what are my rights? I would appreciate your help in this.

Well what works in your favour is your deposit should be in the deposit protection scheme now as it is a legal requirement which means the landlord can’t get it either without your sayso so you should be able to get it back! There is an ombudsman I believe that you can contact about this, and the landlord should NOT retain keys to a rented property even if he is selling he needs to arrange with you to be there, they can’t take people in without permission or you being there! Contact the citizens advice bureau they will no exactly what you can and can’t do.

The DVD is currently out of print (meaning there are no new ones being produced right now) so some people are taking advantage of the demand and jacking up the prices since a lot people that want it are willing to pay the ridiculous prices (it actually sells for $50 on Ebay). It should eventually be released again although it could take many years.
